Senior AdultsWe seek to honor God by providing opportunities for senior adults to grow spiritually, fellowship with one another, reach the lost and help the homebound in the community.BWAC Our Better With Age Club is very active in monthly fellowship meetings the third Thursday at 10:30 AM. Special speakers, music and lunch are enjoyed by all. The Better With Age Club takes ten day trips every year to various points of interest in Central Kentucky. We also enjoy Senior Saints in the Smokies, a spiritual retreat at Johnson Bible College one week in the summer. SERVICE Those involved in our Senior Adult ministry actively seek creative ways to lead seniors to salvation through Jesus Christ. You are invited, regardless of your age, to join us in serving those who are shut in, residing in nursing homes or hospitalized and unable to attend our worship services. We do this by visiting these senior members of our church family offering encouragement, love and practical help. We seek to provide bereavement and widow support groups. In addition, we welcome the opportunity to demonstrate “love in action” by providing our senior adult population with transportation to the doctor, drug store and grocery. Our Senior Adult Ministry at Tates Creek Christian Church can be summed up as follows: FELLOWSHIP – Sharing our abilities with others for the cause of Christ. ENCOURAGEMENT – Reinforcing one another in need. COMPASSION – Support of the needy. We are care givers, not just care receivers. OUTREACH – We carry out our Lord Christ’s Great Commission(Matthew 28:18-20) through our “wed of influence.” All members of TCCC and friends 55 years of age and older are encouraged to become a part of this ministry. EXPANSION STRATEGY Greater involvement of Seniors in church activities Higher visibility profile in the church Influence our community for Christ GOAL Our primary goal in all things is spiritual maturity. We are excited and happy with what is happening with Senior Adults at Tates Creek. Enthusiasm is contagious. The congregation builds the congregation. We want to share the Christian view of aging with all Senior Adults. Old age is meant to prepare us for the existence in another world. Growing old is just a stage in the journey of life as we look Heavenward. “Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come.” Psalm 71:18 We seek to teach His Word and live a Christ centered life.
