Serving our Church, our Community, and our World

Serve within the church

  • Hands and Feet Ministry

The Hands & Feet Ministry is a part of our Wednesday evening ReFresh activities.  We meet at church and prepare items that we will deliver in the community.  Some of our past projects are:

    • Preparing blessing bags for the Police Dept., Sheriff's office, employees at Sayre Christian Village, and others.
    • Making blankets for babies in the NICU and cancer patients at the hospitals.
    • Serving meals at Dining with Dignity for the homeless.
    • Going to Julius Marks Elementary and praying for each teacher and classroom.

We would love to have you join us in serving and praying for our community.  We always welcome new people and new ideas to be the Hands & Feet of Jesus.

  • Volunteers

The preteen, children and preschool ministries are always happy to have volunteers for teaching the youngest of our congregation.  If you would like to serve in either of these areas on a rotating basis, please contact us at

  • First Encounter Ministry

The goal of our teams is to work together to provide an environment where someone who has never been to Tates Creek will feel like they are among friends as soon as they step foot on the church grounds and walk through our doors!
There are many opportunities for service in one or more of the First Encounter Ministry Teams.  Anyone who likes people can get involved in one of the following areas of service:

    • Greeters - Welcome everyone who comes through our doors.  Contact - Mike Mirre (859)224-4919.
    • Host and Hostesses - Our first-time guests and some of the newest attenders will likely not know their way around our facility.  Our hosts and hostesses are there to help them to become familiar with our facility, our Sunday School classes and, when appropriate, how their children can enjoy their visit as well.  Contact - Mary Mirre, 859-224-4919.
    • Information Center - Volunteers are there to answer any questions and to provide our guests and members with published information that will help them to become more acquainted with Tates Creek.
  • Worship Ministry

There are several opportunities to serve the church through our Worship Ministy.

    • Worship Choir - the choir sings for the 9:30 am service throughout the year.  Weekly practices are on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.
    • T3CPO - the Praise Orchestra plays in the worship service once a month and accompanies the worship choir for special programs at Easter and Christmas.  Weekly practices are held Mondays at 5:30 pm.
    • Rejoicing Ringers - the handbell choir plays in our services once a month.  Weekly practices are held Sundays at 5:00 pm.
    • Childrens Choirs - we have preschool and elementary age choirs that practice on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm.
    • Tech Team - this teams assists with sound, lighting, ProPresenter, and other types of media during the Sunday services as well as special programs.

For information regarding any of these areas please contact Mason Ballard, Worship Minister, at
