next prayer experience: october 19

prayer experience

You often hear people say “prayer is easy,” but sometimes it doesn’t feel that way. How do we transform our prayer life from something we know is important to a practice on which we are dependent? Is it essential to our every day lives? Does it shape our marriages and our parenting? Does it inform our decision making? Is it our first response in times of trouble or worry or fear? This year, we want to challenge every member of our church to ask the Lord to help them grow in this area of their spiritual development. As disciples, we are called to follow Jesus’ example as people marked by prayer. We have been given direct access to the throne room of God. That is one spiritual blessing that we don’t want to neglect.

This year we are offering three prayer experiences with one in the Spring, Summer and one later this Fall. These special events are designed to help you grow in your prayer life with teaching, discussion, and some practical experiences that will help stretch us to think about prayer in ways that we may have neglected or overlooked in the past. If you’ve been a Christian for a long time, this is a great way to get out of a praying rut. If you’re new to faith, this is a great chance to form some great habits early in your walk. We’ll be meeting off-site to shake things up a little bit. Our next experience will be held this fall on October 19 from 10 am to 12 pm at Pisgah Presbyterian Church.

Ernie Perry will be leading this Experience where we will be learning how to focus on different aspects of prayer and spend time praying.
