Serve at tates creek

  • First Encounter Ministry

The goal of our teams is to work together to provide an environment where someone who has never been to Tates Creek will feel like they are among friends as soon as they step foot on the church grounds and walk through our doors!

There are many opportunities for service in one or more of the First Encounter Ministry Teams.  Anyone who likes people can get involved in one of the following areas of service:

    • Greeters - Welcome everyone who comes through our doors.
    • Connection Center - Volunteers are there to answer any questions and to provide our guests and members with published information that will help them to become more acquainted with Tates Creek.
    • If you are interested in either of these roles, contact our Connections Team to learn more and get started!
  • children's ministry

The preteen, children and preschool ministries are always happy to have volunteers for teaching the youngest of our congregation.  If you would like to serve in either of these areas on a rotating basis, please click here or contact Dawn Vela for more information.

  • preaching prep team

Interested in getting involved with our Sunday morning teaching? For each sermon series in 2024, Justin is meeting with a small group of people to discuss an upcoming sermon series. He’ll provide a variety of ways to prepare and study a few weeks before hand and then the group will meet for one evening over dinner to discuss their thoughts, insights, questions and personal experiences. These discussions will help shape and inform the preaching process for that series. If you like to talk about your own faith experience, if you are willing to be open and share your own journey with Jesus, this is a great chance to meet new people, talk through ideas and help be part of the preaching process! You don’t have to be a theologian or scholar, you just have to be willing to talk about your unique perspective and views. In fact, the more questions you bring to the table, the better! A new batch of people is recruited for each series, so this is a one time experience. However, if you are interested and would like to be considered for an upcoming Preaching Prep Session, please contact Justin Fluhr.
